Stores

Setting up your ecommerce stores on the GS platform helps GS process your external products and ecommerce orders and sync them with the GS platform. This allows us to showcase the footprint data on all of your ecommerce products and allows us to capture the products sold on your ecommerce platform for carbon offsetting.

There are two types of stores, ecommerce stores and physical stores.

Adding an ecommerce store:

  • Basic store information:

    • Store name, type of channel products are sold through (retail/wholesale), country or region the ecommerce store operates across

  • Integration information:

Note: On selecting the ecommerce platform provider via the dropdown, click on the document icon to open the respective integration document for that provider.
    • Ecommerce platform provider: This indicates the commerce platform which your website is hosted on

    • Domain: It is the online address and URL to your e-commerce store. The domain is based on the ecommerce provider

    • Identifier: An identifier is a unique value that is used to recognize a specific entity, such as a user, product, order, or API client.Users browsing the store are assigned unique identifiers for tracking and personalization. Products have unique identifiers for inventory management, If you are not aware of the identifier for the e-commerce store, Please use the store name.

    • Secret key: A secret key is a confidential piece of data used in conjunction with an identifier (like a client ID) to authenticate requests to APIs or secure communications. It is like a password for your store. These can be generated using online secret key generators (should not contain special characters)

    • Access token: An access token is a type of security credential used in the context of web applications, APIs, and other online services. It is issued by an authentication server to a client (such as a web or mobile application) after the client successfully authenticates. This token is then used to access protected resources on a server.

    • Order sync/product sync: Enabling this will automatically sync all your orders and products form your ecommerce store into the GS platform. Product sync will sync your ecommerce products to the unlinked tab in connected products.

    • Assigning orders of this store to an attribute set: Orders coming in from ecommerce stores can be assigned to order level attribute profiles.

Inputting shipping information:

  • You can assign warehouses to your ecommerce stores to indicate the warehouses from where your products are shipped. This warehouse location will be taken forward in shipping calculations for your ecommerce orders footprint and offset calculation to do carbon offset for the emissions created during your shipping processes

  • When no default warehouse information is available for an order, you can instruct the system to perform  one of the following actions

    • Use store’s default warehouse: The warehouse assigned as default should be used

    • Auto assign warehouse: The warehouse address closest to the customer’s shipping address should be used

    • Auto assign warehouse and physical store: The warehouse address or physical store closest to the customer’s shipping address should be used . This is enabled only if there is a physical store listed

Inputting communication information:

  • Language: You can choose the languages that your store supports for its communication. The list of languages available reflects the same language you have set up in your settings page.

  • Email: You can choose the email address you would like to send emails to consumers for orders placed from this store. You can either use the default GS email address (enter the email) or choose a personal one.

Adding a physical store:

Adding a physical store involves a few basic steps:

  • Linking an ecommerce store to your physical store: All the applicable configuration for the ecommerce store get applied to your physical store as well

  • Entering basic information: Store name, type of channel products are sold through (retail/wholesale), address

  • Shipping information: Here, you can choose if the orders are shipped from the ecommerce stores address or the physical store’s address.
