Global data
Impact mapping involves adding impact metrics to your system along with its actuals and equivalences. Actuals and equivalences are tools to denote your sustainable efforts, for example, actuals can be 10 litres of water saved and its equivalence can be 1000 glasses of drinking water saved or 5000 days of drinking water saved.
These configured actuals and equivalences for each impact metric is what gets displayed in widgets on your website.
Global data list screen:
The added impact metrics lives on the list screen. The list screen contains:
The impact metric
The actuals and equivalences across each measurement system (GS currently supports SI/metric and imperial measurement systems)
Unit of measurement of the actual and equivalence
Note: The actual and equivalences can be customised by clicking on the “customise” option. This takes you to the metric customisation module.
Adding a metric:
Adding metric involves selecting a metric from the list of available metrics and then configuring actuals and equivalences for each metric by clicking on “add actual” or “ add equivalence”
Note: GS provides default actuals and equivalences for each metric. You can add as many actuals and equivalences of you choice for each metric, although there must be atleast 1 actual and equivalence for each measurement system configured. The last available actual and equivalence for each measurement system cannot be deleted.
Once all your metrics and actuals and equivalences for each have been configured you can submit it.
Other actions:
Edit: Edit the impact metrics along with its configured information
Delete: Allows you to delete the metric. If this metric is part of a metric profile, it cannot be deleted
Metric profile
All your added metrics can be grouped in any combination to form metric profiles. Metric profiles are attached to a product and when it is attached, these metrics in the profile and their corresponding actuals and equivalences will render in the widgets on your website.
Add a metric profile:
By clicking on add new, you can see the list of metrics you have configured in global data.
You can select any combination of these metrics to group them into a profile. The actuals and equivalences for these metrics that have been configured in global data also gets pulled here automatically.
Note: Deleting an A/E from the profile will not delete it from the global data metric. If you delete an A/E form the profile or add a new A/E to a particular metric in global data, it can be added using the “manage A/E” button.
The profile also takes basic information such as name of profile, notes (if any) associated with the profile, the option to make this profile a default
Other actions:
- Edit mapping: Edit the metric profile and its associated information.
- Duplicate: Create a copy of the metric profile with the same configured information.
- Set as default: Assign another metric profile as the default
- Delete: Deletes a metric profile. If a profile is attached to a product, it cannot be deleted
