Products
The first action is to add products to the system. Products contain details based on which the supply chain data is mapped, and footprint is calculated. The product screen provides a summary of all the products that have been added to the system. Each product has its details, supply chain and footprint linked to it. You can access these through the list screen that gets created after you add the products. If your products have variation, you can manage them from here. Learn more
Supply chain
A supply chain is a sequence of stages involved in the production of a product. Starting from the raw material phase, the product undergoes various steps until reaching the manufacturing stage. When a product is added to the system, you can automatically affix a template supply chain to the product or choose an existing supply chain. This template supply chain is built on global datasets created by Green Story. This provides you with a foundational dataset to build upon when customiing your own supply chain.
The supply chain relies on a series of interconnected components that serve as inputs and outputs to one another, ultimately resulting in the creation of the final product. The process commences with the most upstream component, where component details, supplier information, input component suppliers, and manufacturing processes are recorded. Learn more
Component
Components are essential elements utilized in the production of a product. The supply chain relies on a series of interconnected components that serve as inputs and outputs to one another, ultimately resulting in the creation of the final product. The process commences with the most upstream component, where component details, supplier information, input component suppliers, and manufacturing processes are recorded. Learn more
Supplier and facility
Suppliers play an important role in the supply chain of any product. By identifying suppliers, you can gather data about the sourcing of raw materials, the manufacturing processes, and the transportation of goods from assembly to warehouses. Every supplier has a facility where they conduct the manufacturing of the component. Learn more
Warehouse
Warehouse represents in-between distribution centers or final facilities from where products are shipped to consumers. Warehouses are used in various parts of the supply chain where the products are required to be transported from one location to another. You can add a warehouse and manage your warehouses all at one place. Learn more
Process
A process is the method of how any component is produced. In GreenStory process means the actual process that runs inside a facility
Material composition
Material composition is the repository of raw materials used in making the products. This library of material compositions allows you to manage the composition across your products
Lifecycle stages
Lifecycle stages are the phases of the lifecycle of a product from raw material to the end of its life. There are four stages: Manufacturing, distribution, use phase and end of life. Life cycle assessment of each product is calculated across all stages. Learn more
Footprint
Once supply chain data is identified, footprint of the product is calculated. The footprint is the overall impact your product has on the environment. LCA or footprint can be calculated for every product or component which has a supply chain assigned to it. The product footprint screen provides a comprehensive view and the ability to analyse a product’s or component’s footprint. It provides overall (aggregate) and breakdown footprints across all applicable impact categories (as per the reporting standard) and chart/ drill-down views so that you can analyse which specific element (supplier, facility component, process, and process flow) is contributing to the product’s footprint.
