This guide will walk you through the steps to set up a Digital Product Passport (DPP). Follow these steps to create a complete and functional DPP ready to share with stakeholders.
Step 1: Set Up Products, Supply Chain, and Data
Before creating a DPP, you must organize the foundational information for your products. Here’s how:
1. Add Products:
- Navigate to the Products section in your dashboard.
- Click on Add Product and fill in the necessary fields (e.g., Product Name, Category, SKU, Weight, etc.).
2. Define Your Supply Chain:
- Go to the Supply Chain tab.
- Add details about raw materials, suppliers, and processes for each product.
- Calculate the product’s environmental footprint on the supply chain screens.
3. Add Additional Data:
- Customize the product details by adding documentation like certificates, claims, care instructions, sustainability practices, performance metrics and other relevant information to display on the DPP.
- Use the Import feature to upload bulk data if required.
4. Link E-Commerce Products:
Once a product is added, you can create multiple e-commerce products linked to the internal product.
Navigate to the E-Commerce Products section.
Add e-commerce product details (e.g., Product ID, Title, Description) and link it to the corresponding internal product.
The E-Commerce Product ID will be used in the URL to load the correct DPP.
Step 2: Customize the DPP Theme
Now that the data is set up, customize the design of your DPP to align with your branding.
1. Select or Customize a Theme:
- Navigate to the Theme section in the settings.
- Choose a default template or upload a custom design.
2. Add Your Branding:
Include your company logo and brand colors.
Adjust font styles, headers, and footer designs.
3. Preview Your Changes:
Use the preview in new tab option to ensure your DPP looks exactly how you want it to.
Step 3: Configure the URL Domain
Secure a URL where your DPP will be hosted. Here’s how:
Choose a Domain:
Go to the Domain Settings page.
Add a custom domain to load your DPP (e.g.yourcompany.ourimpact.info).
- Add Custom Domains for Each Country:
Go to the country mapping settings page.
Add and configure custom domains (e.g..yourcompany.us.ourimpact.info for the US, yourcompany.eu.ourimpact.info for Europe, etc.).
Test each domain to ensure it loads the correct DPP.
Step 4: Download the QR Code
Generate a QR code for your DPP to make it easily accessible.
Go to the QR Code Generator:
In your DPP tab, locate the QR Code option.
Click Generate QR Code for the specific product you want to download DPP for.
Download and Use:
Save the QR code in the desired format (PNG, SVG, etc.).
Embed the QR code on product labels, packaging, or marketing materials.
