Corporate footprint overview

This module enables you to measure your corporate footprint—the overall environmental impact of your company’s operations, including both direct and indirect effects on the planet. This encompasses everything from greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption to waste generation and other ecological impacts.

To accurately calculate the corporate footprint, users are required to submit data about activities conducted by the company, organized under three emission categories known as Scopes:

  • Scope 1 and Scope 2: Activities that have a direct impact on the organization (e.g., fuel combustion, purchased electricity).

  • Scope 3: Activities that have an indirect impact, such as logistics, business travel, and supplier activities.

This data is collected at the entity level. If your organization operates multiple facilities or warehouses, you can provide data separately for each location to ensure a more accurate footprint assessment.

Dashboard

The Corporate Footprint Dashboard offers a centralized view of your organization’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, aligned with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064 standards. It is designed to help you monitor emissions, benchmark performance, and meet compliance or reporting requirements with ease.

You can filter the dashboard to analyze data at multiple levels of detail:

  • Category Level: View a breakdown of emissions by major GHG Protocol categories. This helps identify key emission sources and track improvements across broad operational areas.

  • Sub-Category Level: Dive deeper into specific sub-categories (e.g., Stationary Combustion) within a larger category. This view offers insights by combustion type, biogenic contributions, and even performance at the facility level over time.

Inventory Data

The Inventory Data section captures all operational activities carried out at a facility, warehouse, or company level. These activities are also categorized under the three scopes.

When entering inventory data for a specific scope:

  1. Users will first answer a few screening questions.

  2. Based on the responses, the system will tailor the data entry form to match the relevant activity types.

  3. You can then input detailed information about each activity.

This approach ensures that only relevant data fields are presented, simplifying the data entry process while maintaining accuracy.

Other Data

The Other Data section captures essential company-level inputs that support accurate emissions calculation and reporting. This includes:

  • Annual Data: Define financial and operational information such as revenue, production output, and workforce size.

  • Targets: Set and track emissions reduction goals for individual entities.

  • Emission Factors: Assign average or supplier-specific emission values to specific activities across all three scopes, including reference years and documentation.

This data plays a key role in contextualizing and normalizing your emissions.

Configuration

The Configuration section lets you set key defaults for how your emissions data is calculated and reported. You can define:

  • Reporting Standard (e.g., GHG Protocol)

  • Reporting Period (e.g., calendar or fiscal year)

  • Measurement Method (e.g., location-based or market-based)

  • Units of Measurement

  • Calculation Methodology
